About This Route

This route takes you to the Karen Village of Ban Pa Mak (บ้านป่าหมาก), which lies deep in the jungle of Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

The GPX track starts at the Pranburi Dam, roughly 30 km by road from Hua Hin City (allow about 45 minutes to get there).

From the dam, you'll see the road turn to dirt! This is a well-graded dirt road following the eastern edge of the dam. It is an easy ride with beautiful views of the reservoir. I wouldn't be surprised if this road is being prepared to be paved eventually. Enjoy it while it lasts! :)

After about 15 km, you will leave the reservoir and approach the Thung Phlai Ngam Coffee Shop (ร้านกาแฟทุ่งพลายงาม). While the coffee isn't the best, it's a charming spot for food and chilling with views of the reservoir!

Then, you will get back on the road for the remaining 35 km until Ban Pa Mak. There will be a few dirt sections, but it is paved most of the way. Near the village, a few sections of the pavement are seriously degraded, but it's nothing to worry about.

Once in the village, you will arrive at a yellow bridge leading you to Pa Chang Khao Robusta (ร้านกาแฟวิสาหกิจชุมชนบ้านป่าหมาก), the village coffee shop! If you don't want to walk across the bridge, take the river crossing on the right that will lead you right to the cafe!
